TERSANAS BEACH
The Tersanas beach is one of the secret gems of the Akrotiri peninsula. A small bay, which is very lovable!
The mountains around – which are volcanic formations – the shield! – against the wind.
Because the bay is sheltered from the wind, there are almost never major waves.
The shallow, clear, turquoise waters of the bay heat up easily, so in summer the sea water temperature is above 27 degrees Celsius. This is very pleasant, therefore, it is highly recommended for families with small children.
According to the locals, this beach is: the Beach of Peace and Tranquility!
The Tersanas beach strives to please all guests. Sunbeds and parasols can be rented on the beach. There are changing rooms and shower facilities.
On the sandy beach, a small buffet, with tables and chairs will make Your stay more pleasant.
A cold drink, or a fresh fruit can be very refreshing on hot summer days.
Continuation of the sandy shore is a small rocky section: with a tiny, shallow stream.
We can get to the port via a stone bridge over the stream.
The port is reminiscent of the historical past of Tersanas, as this place was the port of the village of Chorafakia.
Chorafakia is now a very pleasant holiday village, located on the hillside, 2km from the port.
The pearl of the harbor is a tavern, with beautiful views of the bay and coast.
Fresh fish dishes, seafood, and traditional Greek and Cretan dishes are on the menu. The service is friendly.
This place is also loved by locals and foreigners.
The coast is more crowded, when on weekends: locals, especially Chania residents, relax on the beach.
In the area will find all types of accommodation: hotels, small and large houses for rent, and villas.
Near Tersanas, on the other side of the harbor, is the “Machairida” – a secluded, small naturist beach.
