CHANIA – NEA CHORA
Nea Chora – it means: new city. The new Chania was built in the 18th century – outside the walls of the Venetian fortress. So it was during this period that the development of modern Chania began. This is Chania`s beach, where people can swim.
With a walk:
– Venice Fortress is just 1.2 km away
– The city center is 1.3 km away
– the old Venetian port is 2 km away
The city bus public transport is excellent in Chania. The Nea Chora, the former fishing port, today it has a beautiful sandy beach.
It is an ideal choice for those: who love the beautiful beach and also love the historic city. Here really all is together!
This beach is very popular mainly with the locals. The tourists are less know, this beach.
The locals like to relax on Nea Chora after work and in the afternoon: so it is more crowded even then.
But the people of Western Crete are very friendly and kind-hearted. There is always a place, where we can relax.
